I can't keep up with this site

filed under journal

I just can't seem to update this site anymore. Before I had a domain I was working on it, though not necessarily uploading newly added stuff, weekly. The weeks go by so fast now. I think school might have something to do with it. I am in my seventh term now which means that after this one, I have only two left. HUMN410 (Contemporary History) is a cross between the history of the last 2 1/2 centuries and philosophy. The professor wants us to think way too much about the content and assigns a LOT of reading. CET381 (Software Engineering) is pretty boring as there is not much programming involved as of yet. In ECON312 (Principles of Economics), we are on our 3rd professor in as many weeks. The first guy moved to one of the 'M' states. The 2nd was a woman and there was an incident of some sort and apparently she doesn’t even work there anymore. I have failed to meet the third (male) instructor, as I was suffering from severe back pain as a result of doing too much yard maintenance for my grandparents. PHYS225 (College Physics II) is almost the same as PHYS210 (College Physics I) except that we have a different instructor and we are learning other topics.

Some tweakers in a duplex in my neighborhood got raided last night, actually this morning, but I was still asleep so it was night. On his way home from work, my dad noticed three cop cars behind him. They followed him to our driveway, one stopped and two drove past, then they all turned around went down the hill and parked by the duplexes. My dad went on into the house. Fifteen to twenty minutes later the police scanner, that my parents were listening to, said something about a woman in a car pulled into a driveway a couple of houses away and that one of the cops was going to go check it out. When my parents looked out the window they saw a vehicle that had pulled up and parked behind my dad's truck as if it belonged there. The driver (we'll call her Gigantic White Haired Tweaker Woman) was out of her car talking to one of the police officers. The cop blocked the road had her drive to the duplexes. The police scanner said that Tweaker Woman tried to tell the police she came up here to get or have a cigarette. No one that lives here knows the woman or smokes, not to mention it's two in the morning. A few hours later, when daylight came, my mom noticed a bag under one of the cars in our driveway and whilst investigating, found not one, but two, bags. She immediately contacted the police and was forced by the person on the phone to go through the contents of the bags, which contained ephedrine, lithium batteries and antifreeze. For those of you who don't know, lithium and ephedrine are two main ingredients used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, a.k.a. crank. I have no idea what the antifreeze was for. Maybe the woman needed to do a tune up on her car that ran on batteries, but had a cold and couldn't? A police officer in uniform as well as an undercover cop came in a burgundy SUV with black windows around 6:30 AM to retrieve the evidence. They then went down to the duplexes and left shortly afterwards. A witness said the woman who stashed the stuff was throwing a fit in the back of the cop car. There were still cops down there this afternoon when I came back from store. Two men and two women were booked into the County Jail as a result of this raid.

Last week, an enormous Rottweiler/Doberman dog, belonging to the same people, savagely destroyed a MUCH smaller Yorkshire terrier, named Gizmo, belonging to one of our neighbors. Gizmo died at the vet after $1200 was spent to try and save him. The humane society picked up the vicious dog and I assume it was destroyed as well. I wonder if the crazed animal was a product of being exposed to an environment in which crank is manufactured.
